TAMARYN YARTU

Hello, my name is Tammy and I’m originally from Cape Town, South Africa, where I completed a Bachelor of Education Foundation Stage, and worked within a specialist environment catering for children with a range of learning differences and a focus on early intervention. On moving to London, I worked at a Resource Base in Camden for three years, where I started and developed the EYFS classroom. I moved to Gesher when it opened in 2017, starting out as an Early Years teacher and then joining the Senior Leadership Team in my second year, where I developed the school’s primary curriculum, ensuring it focused on the whole child and provided opportunities for personalised learning through to Year 6. I became Headteacher at Gesher in April 2021, and have now transitioned into a co-headship model alongside Nikeisha, where we will continue to develop and nurture a community which identifies the importance of personalised outcomes for each child’s future learning and achievement.
