Rimon class have been busy busy! We have been doing lots of drama and performance, practising our best acting as cavemen. We have also learnt all about Light and been exploring dark and light and reflective and non-reflective materials. We also enjoyed our final two Mitzvah mornings, first making cards for children at the Shalva community centre in Jerusalem and then making delicious cupcakes for key workers at the Royal Free Hospital. Now we are getting ourselves as excited as possible about the upcoming festival: Chanukah! Just wait till you hear our rendition of Latke Recipe by the Maccabeats.
Over the last 2 weeks we have been exploring space and space stories in Gefen class. We have looked at lots of wonderful stories and have had some fun messy play time where we dressed up as lots of different space characters!
Well done Gefen class for being amazing these past two weeks and always putting a smile on Miss Emily’s face!
D’vash class have been busy this week learning all about how to be a good friend, linked to our ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ focus. We all shared our ideas about what we should do to be a good friend and made posters for display. I have been excited to see how the D’vash children have been developing their social skills with adults in the school and their friends in class and in the playground. Positive interactions with peers are a key part of our daily learning in D’vash and I am proud to see the children all working hard to share their play with their friends!
Tamar has had great return to school after half term! We have been learning about division in Maths and it turns out we already know quite a bit! In Literacy, we have been writing poems about Bonfire Night and remembering about the good old days when we used to celebrate it and the treats that went with it. We learnt about the Hindu festival, Diwali and how it is a bit similar to Rosh Hashanah because it is their New Year and they also ask for a good and prosperous year to come.

We have had an exciting two weeks in Chitah Class. We have continued exploring more about Space, looking at the planets and their unique properties! We learnt about the significance of Remembrance Day and made poppy badges to recognise the importance of this day. In Maths some children have been learning about Fractions and Sharing between friends and groups. At the same time, others have been looking at shapes. Good work Chitah!

Rimon class have been busy learning all about our new topic ‘The Stone Age’ and ‘Light’ in Science. In Topic, we watched a video on the Stone Age, and began writing down all the questions we wanted to answer in our learning. We put them together to make a fire because that’s how Cavemen stayed warm! In Science, we have been learning all about natural and artificial sources of light and identifying them around school. Finally, we loved making our challah covers for Mitzvah morning, which will be sent all the way to the Belarus community. We look forward to the next few mitzvah mornings too!

This week we have been exploring Space and all of the different Planets! We have created out own Rockets and Astronauts and have looked at animals that live in the sea and those that live in water. We’ve also had some fabulous art sessions where we have learnt about Diwali and how to celebrate the Hindu New Year in style. Well done Gefen class!

Hello everyone, D’vash class have settled in brilliantly after the holidays and made a great start to Autumn Two term. This term we are learning all about Space, a topic that the children are very interested in. We have read lots of Space themed books, done Space themed art and messy play and had a great time dressing up as Aliens and Astronauts. I am so proud of how well all of the children in D’vash are doing at recognising and learning to manage their emotions. We use the Zones of Regulation to talk each day about how we are feeling or how our friends are feeling. We are continuing to practice managing our emotions and using strategies to get back to the ‘Green Monster’ so we are ready for learning!

Over the last two weeks, Tamar class have been hard at work learning about our Solar System in Science. We have learned about the Sun which is at the centre of our solar system and the planets which orbit it. In Maths we have been practising addition and our times tables. Our teacher thinks we’re getting pretty good! On Wednesday, we had a special Kodesh day learning about Sukkot and the traditions involved. We had a fun day learning about the History of Sukkot and making crafts.
